Put a face on the Baume & Mercier Facebook community: Two VSRs- Very Special Reporters- to represent 100,000 Fans

In November last year, via a podcast on the wall, Alain Zimmermann, CEO of Baume & Mercier, invited in person the Fans to participate to an original contest: “Become a VSR, a Very Special Reporter, and cover the SIHH (Salon de la Haute Horlogerie) for the rest of the community which will experience this fabulous event through your eyes”. On December 14th, the names of the two VSRs elected by the Facebook community were released. Although participants to the contest came from all over the world, from Europe, Middle East or Central America, with various profiles, from students to business men and women, artists, founder of charities, and a TV anchor, both winners are from the United States.

Who’s who ?

Rashard Reed is a photographer. He is also the founder of a small record label that features DJs from around the world and is very proud of its latest release, Jamiroquai mix from a DJ who splits its time between London and Paris. Gary Coleman has worked in the jewelry industry for 22 years, as a retailer and more recently as a manufacturer of diamond jewelry. Beside watches, his love goes to tech gadgets.

A dream comes true

Since their arrival at the Starling Hotel in Geneva on Sunday 16th, Rashard and Gary were trailed by a cameraman and will cover the SIHH for the Facebook community, including breaking news, interviews and backstage details.. Today they met with Baume & Mercier’s CEO Alain Zimmermann who gave them as a welcome present a watch from the new collection Capeland. They then spent time with Alexander Peraldi, Director of the Studio Design who explained in details the inspiration for the beautiful chronograph. As true reporters, they attended a press conference for the Chinese media… The excitement came to a height in the evening as worldwide celebrities walked on the Red Carpet, highlighted by the sparkling presence of Gwyneth Paltrow.
