A Complete Service is recommended every 3 to 5 years (5 to 7 years for Baumatic models) but may vary depending on the use of the watch as well as the environment in which it is worn.

After a diagnosis, this service is recommended if the movement is no longer working properly.

It includes the following operations:

•   Disassembly of the watch
•   Movement overhaul: dismantling, cleaning, replacement of worn parts, reassembly and lubrication
•   Shining of the case (and metal bracelet) for watches in steel or yellow/red gold
•   Ultrasonic cleaning of the case (and metal bracelet)
•   Reassembly of the case with new gaskets
•   Replacement of other parts if necessary or requested by client:

        -    steel screws, chronograph hands (included in the service)

        -    other hands, crystal, crown, push-buttons, dial,... (invoiced separately)

•   Reassembly of the watch
•   Technical and aesthetic final controls

The water-resistance of your watch is not permanently guaranteed. The gaskets that ensure water-resistance can be physically deteriorated by natural aging but also by regular use of the winding crown, shocks, and other factors including perspiration, use of cosmetics and changes in temperature.

It is the reason why we recommend a water-resistance check of your watch every year and to perform this service as soon as your watch is not anymore water-resistant.

This service includes the following operations:

•   Replacement of the battery for Quartz models

As we know watches may have an emotional value, Baume & Mercier commits to repair any watch, whatever its age and its condition.

A service for a vintage watch is generally more delicate than for a contemporary model and a restoration may be necessary.

Given that skills to restore the oldest models are very rare, these watches must be returned to our Baume & Mercier watchmaking workshop in Switzerland to be exclusively repaired by our specialized watchmakers and time required will be longer than for a standard service (minimum 8 weeks).

The watchmaker will recommend a battery service if the diagnosis confirms that the battery is exhausted and that the movement and gaskets are still in good condition to ensure watch precision and water-resistance.

A battery service is necessary once every 3 to 6 years depending on the autonomy of the watch.

This service includes the following operations:

•   Case-back opening

•   Replacement of the battery

•   Replacement of the case-back and crown tube gaskets

•   Case-back closing

•   Technical and aesthetic final controls
